Spirit of Tasmania

The "big Spud The Bay of Fires The Bay of Fires

We just spent a lovely week in Tasmania! The nine-hour ferry cruise to the island, was very pleasant. Lovely views and plenty of time to catch up on some knitting and reading. Tasmania itself was a delight! We drove up and down the length of the island through mountainous tree fern forrests and bathed in pristine coastal beaches! Tried local wines, cheeses and chocolate....doesn't get much better than that!

so much sewing!

I am particularly fond of textile work, and what with the festive season and the warmer weather I have found myself in a bit of a dress sewing spree! Having a lot of fun and enjoying the wonderful fun fabrics out there!

my groovy retro bicycle

These are my new wheels! Melbourne is such a lovely city to ride in and I go to the markets on my bicycle most days!

Max and I

This is Max and I in the back garden. I'd like to wish all a Happy New Year!

My sister, Ingrid ( yes, "THE Ingrid") has gotten me involved in Facebook. I have long avoided this venture, but now that I have a new fangle computer, I can no longer use my old relic of a computer as an excuse. I'm just not an, out there kinda girl. So along with this blog and facebook, I will try to keep friends and family informed of my whereabouts......oh by the way, yes, we did gallivant up to Thailand not long ago...

yeah!!! A new computer!!

Yes, it's been a very long time since I've blogged. My apologises to all. An incredibly busy life and a failing computer have kept me away from the screen, but hopefully now I'll be able to post more regularly!

Vogue Medallion "cardigan" complete!

Finally finished the Medallion Cardigan!! Yippee! At times it seems like the project that would NEVER end! I'm very glad that I stuck with it though, as I'm very happy with the results. Still not quite sure why it's called a "cardigan" as it's clearly really a waistcoat!

Red, woolly and wonderful...I'm in LOVE!

Just completed this woolly cardigan today! It's been sitting and waiting for buttons for almost a week now and I finally got around to it. More of a coat than a cardigan, it's wonderful for Melbourne's current blustery days! DH wishes me to knit him a blue sweater out of the same wool, hopefully I can still find some, as I think it's discontinued. Wish me luck!
