Just finished today...a new tea dress!
After seeing some local designers making some very fun tea dresses out of vintage fabrics, I needed to have a try. Scouring my local op shops was dismal and disappointing. But one mention of this to my WONDERFUL Mother-in-law June, she produced the goods, in the form of late1960's/early 1970's pure cotton!! I LOVE the lime -acid green combo, despite the fact that time has softened it's vividness a bit. So, here's what I made. Thank you SO much June! xoxox

25th Wedding Anniversary!!!
To my amazing Husband, Happy Anniversay! For richer or poorer, in sickness (... and we've had enormous amounts of that in our family) and in health, to love and cherish always! Thank you for your love, loyality and humour. You're definitely the one I want by my side should the ship start sinking!!!
(Sweater I knit for Russell (the sweater is actually black, apologises for the bad photo!) , Max enjoying Russell's sweater, and AMAZING Flowers sent to us, from my Mother in America!Thursday, March 17, 2011

Retro sewing.
Okay, I admit it, I'm an unusual mix. I can pour concrete, forge metal, and mix vats of clay with the best of them, and hold my own. But there's another side of me that loves the girly things in life. Nice fragrances, painted toe nails peeking out of summer sandals, and sewing pretty dresses. I've been inspired by a few "tea dresses"that I've seen on Indie design sites. I have a few different dresses already cut out and ready to begin sewing tomorrow. I LOVE this wrap pattern dress because the design is so very clever and requires no zip. Although my waist is a thing of the past, I still think it'll look cute with the flouncy circle skirt. Dreaming of Audrey Hepburn....
My Apologises...
I had hoped to post more frequently, but I'm suffering from technical difficulties....my Kodak UBS cable has inadvertently travelled down the coast with my daughter.( I keep forgetting to remind her to bring it home with her when she visits.)
